EraserDog is developed and updated by Chris Jensen with input and help from his wonderful wife Cindy, a 2nd grade teacher in Palmdale, CA.
The start of EraserDog can probably best be attributed to starting a list of "100 things to do in life" about 5 years ago. The list began with a mish mash of ideas from winning the Club Championship at his golf club (accomplished) to bungee jumping (accomplished) and continues to be updated with new things like writing a book (started, but not yet accomplished) and other items deleted like to play golf at Pebble Beach (not into golf these days) as interests change. One item was to spend a year not in the classroom (Chris realized he had been in school as a student or teacher since kindergarten) and since it was on the list it became a reality, which evolved into Chris improving his programming skills and creating EraserDog.
Chris is currently teaching math in Palmdale, CA and adding new worksheets in his free time. He also has replaced golf with running and has progressed up to running 50k's (31 miles for you metrically challenged) and hopes to increase the length but realizes his aging body takes its own time letting him know with hints like sore knees, aching muscles and broken toes (a long story).
Along with adding worksheets (perhaps even outside of math) Chris envisions a more interactive site to help students understand and master concepts, and a very basic start is at www.erasercat.com (if there is an EraserDog, of course there has to be an EraserCat) with a few quizzes that are from EDog worksheets. With all the ideas Chris has perhaps needs to take another year off... maybe he should add that to the list??? Then again there is a possibility that list may end up in the shredder if Cindy sees an addition like that. For now Chris enjoys hearing from EraserDog user with any ideas, suggestions or mistakes (which he blames on Cindy) and does his best to take care of them as soon as possible.
